//VTUBER_SHOWCASE::
WELCOME BACK !!!
Today I'd like to do a little bit of "show and tell" and share my vtuber avatar ! I guess
this is me coming out as a #cringe vtuber streamer, woops.
I'm incredibly proud of how my streaming setup turned out, so if that makes me cringe then so be it !
"What's a vtuber ?" You may ask...
A vtuber is
someone, usually a livestreamer or youtuber (that's where the "V" (virtual) and
"tuber" (youtuber) comes from), who uses a virtual avatar instead of their face to
create
content online. For the virtual avatar to work, motion capture will translate the real-life
facial animations and body movements in real time so the avatar's face/body can move
accordingly. We've seen a wide range of those
"virtual avatars", some look
photo-realistic, some look more anime-style, some are human or animals... the possibilities
are endless
So today I'd like to show you mine ! I'm incredibly proud of how it turned out so behold ... her !
Some people have some super thoughtful concept behind their vtuber, I just decided to combine
things I love : cosmic horror, cyberpunk, cat girls and cute j-fashion. She's a
synthetic cat girl, but since she's still a prototype, some extra eyes were accidentally
added...
Here is a full-body picture of her :
Now I need to give full credit to Nelta_Rene on Twitter who I
commissioned to draw the vtuber model.
I'm not good enough at drawing to do all of this myself
However, since I livestream very rarely, I didn't really want to invest too much money into the animation part. Commissioning someone to "animate" a 2D artwork like this can cost thousands because it's incredibly time consuming. So I've decided to learn how to do it myself. It's definitely not as good as if I would have commissioned someone to do it, but I also didn't want to severely underpay someone for all this work. I've spent over 100 hours animating the model myself, so no wonder this kind of work rightfully costs a lot !
I've also spent a lot of time designing on Photoshop my streaming overlay, to make it into a futuristic y2k wii heaven. Take a look !
I'm sooooooo proud of how it turned out. I think it perfectly reflects my personality and aesthetic ! Cool features include :
- a clock with my local time, as well as a dynamic weather widget showing the temperature outside
- a section that shows what song is currently playing on stream
- a live heartrate monitor showing how fast my heart is beating in real time (it's not displaying anything in the video because I didn't have my heart monitor hooked up)
- a "Yokiie.exe has stopped working" animation when I'm temporarily AFK
I hope you guys enjoy this setup as much as I do !
I've already received some super adorable fan-art about her, which I've displayed in my brand
new fan art gallery ! If you'd like your fan art to be featured
there, feel free to send me a message on any of my social medias
