//TOKYO_Q4::DAY7-SHIBUYA-V2
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE !!
Today is the seventh day of my travel log
Today I decided to check out a chromed-out cafe in Shibuya, and
shop for some beauty products !
Outfit of the day !
Today's outfit is a bit more casual : featuring my favorite
Chloma sweater, some skirt-legwarmers with cut-outs on the knees (it was waaay too cold and windy that day for me to go bare-legs
underneath though, so I wore some leggings underneath), my favorite Grounds Shoes and some
cyber hair-pins that were kindly sent to me by Akblbaaa
Chrome cafe time
I had this cafe on my list for a while because of its unique
interior design, as well as them
hosting pop-ups from small businesses/artists that are always dope. The drinks also seemed
to be really unique so of course this made me want to try them out !
So we headed to cafe 030 for a late breakfast / brunch. What immediately
stood out to me on the menu was their "Blue latte" (can you
guess why it was my first choice
?)
my partner being a coffee addict, got a "Yuzu Coffee" which is
espresso + tonic water + yuzu
lemonade, delicious. I was wondering what could the
blue latte possibly taste like, turns out it was lavender-flavored and extremely yummy !
We both got a second round of each...
They served our drinks on these adorable floppy disk coasters,
which I've been doing at home
for years so OBVIOUSLY they just stole that idea from me
They had on display a lot of second-hand clothes that were really cute, I particularly liked
this "Giving Cunt Since 1998" shirt because it's literally my
birth year...
I didn't end up
buying it though, because I knew that I would struggle to style it with my cyber clothes and
I want to be mindful of my clothes consumption. I've made the
mistake too many times of
buying something for the vibe, but ending up never wearing it because I just couldn't style
it with my existing clothes
Loft + Dinner
After spending a long time chatting in the coffee, we wanted to go check out the Loft nearby
to stock up on some essentials. Specifically, I was looking to refill my go-to makeup such
as the "Kiss Me Heroine" mascara and eyeliner, which are my
HOLY
GRAILS that I use every
single time
I highly recommend them because they DO
NOT move all day, it's even hard to
take off because of how long-lasting it is
For that reason, I
recommend that you also
get their "Speedy mascara remover" because it will make your mascara just slide off with no
effort
Another must-have is the "&honey Matomake stick" which is hair
gel + hair oil in a
tube ! Comes with a little mascara-like wand which allows you to apply it to fly-away hairs.
It's particularly great to fix your bangs on the go, always helps me tame frizzy hair and
keep my bangs in place. The tube format is SO convenient to have
in my bag !
My partner was also looking for a notebook from the brand "Traveler's
Factory", which is a
famous Japanese stationery brand well-loved by people around the world
The
cool thing about
those notebooks is that you can buy additional paper inserts when you run out of pages, and
you can basically re-use the same notebook forever by replacing
the paper inserts. The
overall design and quality are really good, so I highly recommend it if you're looking for a
new planner, diary, etc...
After shopping for a while, (Loft has 7 floors !) we were
getting really hungry... It also
started to rain hard... Of course
our go-to for a quick dinner was the Sushiro nearby. However, at this hour the line was
REALLY long
but I'll let
you in on my secret to never have to stand around & wait in
line...
Using the Line chat app to get in the virtual-queue ! No need to wait in line
standing up
at the store anymore, now they send you live updates telling
your position in the queue with
a wait time estimate. This allowed us to do other things while waiting for a table !
My plan while waiting was to try the same Purikura machine from the first purikura
incident again... at that
point I was still in denial and thought "surely last time was
just a bug, this time I'll
select the "no retouching" option and I'll look normal !"... Spoiler alert, I was wrong.
I
picked the same "no retouching" option, and the SAME THING
happened to me AGAIN... You know
what they say, fool me once... fool me twice...
Thankfully the video
version that you
can download from the app looks pretty normal, but the individual photos still looked
absolutely crazy
Sushi time
With plenty of time to spare, we walked back to the Sushiro to get seated. It felt so good to finally sit down after standing and walking around for so long !
This Sushiro didn't have the giant touch-screens to order like the other ones we've been to
on Day 6, but they had the small iPads that are standard in most of these modern sushi
conveyor-belt restaurants. Once again I went crazy with my
favorite Ikura Gunkan (salmon
roe) sushis
and tried their "Mozarella Pesto
Salmon" seasonal
sushis ! It was honestly
surprisingly good, I even ordered more... you should try it if
you get the chance !
Thank you for reading this seventh travel log ! I hope you
had
as much fun reading it as I had writing it ! I'll see you
in the next one, stay tuned !
