//TOKYO_Q4::DAY8-FRIEND
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE !!
Today is the eighth day of my travel log
Today I'll be spending a day with my friend Cameron aka nore2000mac
We've known each other for a while now, through the internet, but since she lives in Japan, we haven't had a lot of chances to hangout...
Outfit of the day !
I decided to go with a super functional and easy to wear outfit.
It’s comfy, practical, and feels like something you can actually move around in, while still
looking put together. I remember that day was pretty cold so I decided to wear my cropped
windbreaker to stay warm, with flowy cargo pants to keep airflow and not overheat. Since the
top has a low neck I decided to add my favorite chrome choker !
Aesthetic cafe time
After proposing a few ideas for a place to go hangout, Cameron and I decided to check out
this super aesthetic cafe in Shibuya. It’s a place with a very
unique interior design : The entire theme is black and white ! The drinks are also really
unique, all of them being completely monochrome too !
What immediately stood out to me on the menu is that all their drinks, including their
coffee, are completely grey ?? I genuinely wonder how they
achieve that... Our guess is that they use activated charcoal powder to achieve that grey
tint, but I couldn't taste it AT ALL when usually charcoal has a pretty strong flavor. So
they did a really good job at developing those drinks for sure. Cameron got the black
chiffon cake with the "non-colored latte" and I got the "gray milk tea". The names are very
fitting and they were both delicious !
Another interesting thing about this cafe is that they had this giant projector screen behind us with loops of super cool abstract visuals. Of course all of them black & white too... I spent a lot of time staring at it, it was seriously mesmerizing... and did I mention that even Cameron and I's outfits were completely black and white too ? We didn't plan that ahead of time but we just happened to show up with a black outfit and a white outfit respectively, it was so cute to see how our outfits matched together !
Next we headed to get some dinner because we were both super hungry...
We tried to go to the Pepper Parlor Cafe that has those robots rolling around the place, however the line was pretty long so we decided it's not worth it and we went somewhere else instead. In the same building we ended up finding a tempura restaurant that looked YUMMY ! So we didn't need to think about it too much and just went in there
Whether it's in the cafe or over food, hanging out with Cameron always feels so easy and effortless. The conversation just flows naturally, and we can talk about anything without it ever feeling forced. Time always seems to pass way too quickly when we’re together, which is honestly the best kind of friendship
I always have a lot of fun together and wish we could hangout more often but being so far away geographically makes it hard
I miss her already but I know that I'll be seeing her again soon !
Thank you for reading this eighth travel log ! I hope you
had
as much fun reading it as I had writing it ! I'll see you
in the next one, stay tuned !
